Update on the Kidnap of Ejibgbo L.C.D.A Chairman- Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan



Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Kehinde Oladapo Bamigbetan was on tuesday night abducted by unknown gunmen at Ejigbo in Lagos.

He was said to have been abducted by four gunmen on his way home at about 11:00pm, as he was about entering the Street before Egbe Bridge at Ejigbo, where his house is located.

He was with his driver, Biodun Olayiwola, in his black Ford Everest Jeep with special registration number KOK.

People reported that the gunmen were said to have released several gun shots into the air to scare away residents before catching up with Bamigbetan and his driver whose four-wheel drive got stuck in the mud in a bid to escape from the assailants. Bamigbetan, was later whisked away by the gunmen.

Bamigbetan’s driver, Olayiwola, who escaped with minor bruises, said that he and his boss were attacked by three armed men while another member of the gang was waiting in the assailant’s car in an attack that barely lasted three minutes.

As at Wednesday, the abductors contacted the wife and made the demand of the sum of $1million ransom if he should be released alive.

By Thursday (today) news filtering in speculated that Operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) on wednesday night raised the hope of members of the family of kidnapped Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, that it is on a red-hot-trail of the politician’s abductors and that it was optimistic of the council boss’ early return.

A source at the SSS, who did not want his name in print, told THISDAY News that the service was already on the trail of the kidnappers, adding that if all things work out accordingly, the victim would soon return to the warm embrace of his family.
