This year’s
Wimbledon is really a champion slayer. And we were surprised when Roger Federar
Crashed out, then it was the turn of Nadal,
and on Monday, the Wimbledon tournament crowd on Centre Court witnessed another
astonishing result.
Our dear beloved, imperious, indomitable, Serena
Williams, in the women’s game, was sent off by Sabine Lisicki 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. Williams,
who had barely given away a point thus far in the tournament, was shown the way
out!
The thing about serena Williams is that as much
as she was respected, she was also seen as a bully in the sense that you dear face
her, you lose whatever title or glory you have!
Steaming Lisicki |
As victory came calling for Lisicki she fell to
the turf sobbing with tears of triumph! The Bully has finally been bullied.
Lisicki has beaten the reigning French Open
champion on three occasions here (Svetlana Kuznetsova in 2009, Li Na in 2011,
Maria Sharapova in 2012). With this unique resume, she was definitely no piece
of meat.
Congratulations
Lisicki, Serena I still love you!
