A security guard attached to a branch of First
Bank Plc in Osogbo, Osun State discovered an explosive substance wrapped in a
polythene bag inside the banking hall on Tuesday 4th March, 2014.
It was
reported that bank officials and customers were quickly evacuated from
the bank immediately the explosive substance was discovered.
The Police Anti-Bomb Squad was later deployed in
the bank and they were said to have detonated the bomb, they also cordoned off
Station Road, where the bank is located.
As soon as the information filtered to
neighbouring shop owners, many hurriedly closed their shops, while some left
their wares and ran for safety.
