Yesterday, President Goodluck Jonathan appointed
an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, as the acting
Inspector-General of Police.
Until Abba’s appointment, he was the AIG in
charge of Zone 7. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity,
Dr. Reuben Abati, confirmed the handing over of the baton in the police, he
also said Abba’s appointment would take effect from Friday (today).
