Nobel Prize: Malala Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Who says that one can’t be great at a young age? That fellow should think again.

Popular Pakistani child education activist Malala Yousafzai has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Another winner this year is the Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi.

Malala is 17, this makes her the youngest recipient of the Nobel prize.

In October 2012 the teenager was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen for campaigning for girls’ education.

According to the Nobel committee, these two were awarded the prize “for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people”.

This year’s record number of 278 nominees included Pope Francis and Congolese gynaecologist Denis Mukwege, although the full list was kept a secret.

Well done Malala!
