Victims Of The MH17 Crash Begins Their Journey Home

Today is a day of mourning in the Netherlands for the 298 victims of MH17 that was shot down. As the first planes carrying bodies from flight MH17 have left Ukraine for the Netherlands.

Pro-Russian rebels have been widely accused of shooting down the Malaysia Airlines plane on 17 of July. The Rebels have also been accused of exaggerating the number of bodies transported from the crash site to the town of Kharkiv on Tuesday. They had claimed 282 bodies had been loaded on to a train, but experts said only 200 could be verified.

Experts will begin to identify the dead, most of whom were Dutch. The first 40 coffins were slowly loaded on to two military planes at Kharkiv airport on Wednesday morning by a military guard of honour.

Death Toll Of Chibok School Girls Parents Hits 11

According to The Sun and the Associated Press (AP), nearly a dozen parents of the more than 200 kidnapped northern schoolgirls will never see their daughters again.

Since the mass abduction of the schoolgirls by Islamic extremists three months ago, at least 11 of their parents have died and their hometown, Chibok (Borno State), is under siege from the militants, residents report.

Seven fathers of kidnapped girls were among 51 bodies brought to Chibok hospital after an attack on the nearby village of Kautakari this month, said a health worker who insisted on anonymity for fear of reprisals by the extremists.

At least four more parents have died of heart failure, high blood pressure and other illnesses that the community blames on trauma due to the mass abduction 100 days ago, said community leader Pogu Bitrus, who provided their names.

Bornu NMA Chapter Shuns General Strike

It’s been reported that the Bornu State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has ignored the ongoing nationwide strike embarked upon by the national body of the association.

According to the local NMA chapter this move is to allow medical doctors in the state to attend to victims of the five-year-old Boko Haram insurgency in the state.

According to  THEWILL it was disclosed to them that medical doctors in neighbouring Adamawa and Yobe States are also shunning the general strike to enable them attend to victims of Boko Haram insurgency.

The source however said that though the doctors did not join their colleagues in the strike, they align with the demands of their other colleagues, maintaining that the decision was made in line with the ethics of the profession which demands a sacrifice for the life of patients.

Is this a good move?

I think it is!!!

Governor Of Ekiti Says: His Loss At Guber Elections Was Not Because Of Stomach Infrastructure

The noise about stomach infrastructure in Ekiti State has been addressed by Governor of Ekiti State Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Ekiti state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has debunked insinuations that he lost the 21 June governorship election because of what analysts have called ‘stomach infrastructure’, saying the insinuations are the handiwork of people he described as “arm chair analysts.” The governor made the assertion at the 70th birthday lecture and book presentation in honour of Professor Olatunji Dare in Lagos.

“Forget about what you read in the papers, it is not stomach infrastructure,” he said in a veiled reference to the outcome of the Ekiti state governorship polls.

While announcing his launch of the book, Fayemi explained that he decided to attend the event himself and purchase copies of the book because “maybe it will redeem my image of what people say we are. Forget what you read from the arm chair analysts, there is nothing called stomach infrastructure in Ekiti. That story will be told another day, not for this occasion.”

Todays' Special Story: Little Girl Born Without A Nose

From Daily Mail:

'Tessa is so petite but she's the most determined little girl I know, she adores her big brother and sister, copies everything they do and despite her "disabilities" is already a typical toddler who climbs the furniture and loves to dance.

'Everyone who meets her instantly falls in love with her, we just want her to inspire other people like she inspires us.' Just weeks after giving birth, while researching the condition on the internet, she came across a journal online which stated that babies born like Tessa had poor mental and physical development.

She claims it implied that parents should be given the option to terminate their pregnancy. Mrs Evans, a full time career from Maghera, County Derry, says her daughter proves that statement wrong.
Recalling the birth, she said: 'As soon as I saw her face I knew something was wrong.

'I was in shock and I just froze. The midwife cut the cord before I could even say anything and whisked her away from me.'
