Fresh Human Tongue Found In Herbalist’s Blood-drenched Shrine In Ogun

A human tongue, an arm and a woman’s private part has been found in the house of an herbalist identified as Chief Dandola Owotomo aka Amuludun, in Ijebu-Igbo, in Ijebu-Igbo North-East Local Government Area of Ogun State, according to reports.

 

He was said to be one of the three suspected ritualists arrested by police in the state in connection with the disappearance of a 70-year-old Kehinde Rabiu, who was declared missing at Idode-Imomo in the area.

Owotomo, 65, was arrested at his residence in Oke Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area by policemen from Atan Police Division following a tip- off.

A police source from Atan Police Station, who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard that the man was picked up by policemen after his house was searched where a shrine was uncovered with fresh human parts.

 

It would be recalled that a kidnappers’ den was uncovered in the same area recently after the mysterious disappearance of the aged man which led to the arrest of three suspects.

According to the police source, “We went to Ijebu-Igbo with the support of the CDA member after we got a tip-off from the people. When we got to the man’s house, it was an eyesore.

President Jonathan promises to be in South Africa, Only if Eagles qualify for finals

Mr. President Goodluck Jonathan has charged our (*lol*) Super Eagles to beat Mali in the semi-final on Wednesday in durban, and qualify for the final of 2013 AFCON.

He has promised to be at the finals this weekend, if the Nigerian team qualify.

The president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Aminu Maigari said the Super Eagles are ready to fulfill President Jonathan’s desire to travel to South Africa for the championship game.

“I have just spoken to the head coach (Stephen Keshi) and the captain (Joseph Yobo), and they have assured me that they will fulfill Mr. President’s desire. It is rare to have this kind of support from a Head of State,” said Maigari.

Let's hope this motivates our team! Many Nigerians didn't believe in the Super Eagles, until the last Match against the Ivorians.

Muhammad Ali could be dead in days –Brother

Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali is so ill he could be dead within days, his brother has warned. Rahman Ali said the former heavyweight champion cannot speak and no longer recognises him.

Rahman fears his 71-year-old brother – known as The Greatest – may not survive the summer.

“He’s in a bad way. He’s very sick.

“It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands.”

Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984 but remained active for many years and made a moving appearance at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games where he lit the flame.

However, he was seen looking particularly thin and frail at the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony where he was helped across the stage by wife Lonnie. Rahman has accused his sister-in-law, who has been married to Ali for 26 years, of refusing to let the family visit the ailing champion.

Rahman, who was also a professional boxer, said he last saw his brother in July at the Sports for Peace Gala in London and is only allowed to speak to him over the phone.

The brothers, born Cassius and Rudolph Clay, grew up together in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ali’s most recent public health scare was December, 2011, when the champion was taken to hospital after falling unconscious. Emergency services were called days after Ali made a frail appearance at the funeral of fellow boxing great Joe Frazier. 

My Marriage Crashed Due To Inexperience- Chika Ike

Chika, in a press statement said “I’m separated and I’m working on my divorce and very soon I’d get the divorce”

The Nollywood actress said inexperience and getting married at a young age are the reasons her marriage failed.

According to her “some people get married that young and have been able to make their marriages work, but if your young, there are some things your yet to experience”

Chika Ike was nominated twice at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

 Honestly, there are things you hear about this country and just wish you can change being a Nigerian when you think you can't change certain things immediately.

 A young guy in my neighborhood who is a driver plying Kano-Lagos was shot on the head between Okene and Lokoja in Kogi State by Armed Robbers. The hospital he was taken to in Lokoja confirmed the bullet was still in his head and since he could not afford the money for the surgery, he was sent out of the hospital. With the bullet in his skull, he returned to Kano over a week ago.

 He was taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital here where they also confirmed the bullet to still be in his head.

Appeal Court Upholds Rev. Kings Death Sentence

 

The Court of appeal sitting in Lagos on Friday confirmed the death sentence slammed on Chukwuemeka Ezeugo (a.k.a Rev. King) for killing a member of his church over six years ago.

President Obama makes Immigration Reform Push

President Barack Obama has said the time has come for a sweeping overhaul of the US immigration system. He made his case at a high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, a day after a bipartisan group of senators released an outlined framework for the Immigration reform. 

The White House and senators envisage a path to citizenship for many of an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US.

The move reflects the growing influence of Hispanic voters. In his opening remarks, Mr Obama said: "The time has come for common-sense, comprehensive immigration reform." He noted that the current system was "out of date and badly broken". 

Mr Obama's case for an immigration revamp reflects a blueprint he rolled out in 2011, though that did not go far, to the disappointment of Latino voters.

On Tuesday 29^th January 2013, the US president championed the proposals outlined a day earlier by a group of four Democratic and four Republican senators.

"The good news is that for the first time in many years Republicans and Democrats seem ready to tackle this problem together," he said.

But Mr Obama added that if Congress did not take action, the White House would write legislation of its own and insist that lawmakers vote on it.

Dutch Court Rules Shell Nigeria Liable for Oil Spill

Dutch Court has today ruled that Shell’s subsidiary in Nigeria is partly liable for oil spills in the Niger Delta.

It also ruled that Shell will pay compensation to one farmer. Four Nigerian farmers had sued Shell for polluting and destroying their farmlands and rivers.
