The lovebirds: Beyonce and Jay Z, had gone to Cuba to celebrate their fifth (5) year together. Two Republican Members of Congress has asked the U.S Treasury Department to investigate if they actually got permission to travel to the "Embargoed" Country.

Do people need permission to travel to any country of their choice? Just asking!

Margaret Tatcher, Britain's Iron Lady Dies at 87

I grew up identifying her as a very strong woman, infact that name 'Thatcher' depicts someone with a no nonsense personality. She was Britain's First Female Prime Minister.

Lady Thatcher  died this morning of stroke at the age of 87, around 11am at the Ritz Hotel.

Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron said: "We've lost a great prime minister, a great leader, a great Briton.

And Yes She Was. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.

Education Reforms, NECO, UTME Will Be Out, WEAC And JAMB Will Stay!

As part of Education reforms, Federal Government has concluded arrangements to scrap the National Examination Council.

Plans have also been concluded to cancel the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination being conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board for applicants into the nation’s tertiary institutions.

JAMB will however not be scrapped. The government’s decisions, which would be made public soon via a White Paper, are based on the recommendations of the Stephen Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on the Rationalisation and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies.

A government source told our  correspondent that the decisions were part of the recommendations made by a White Paper Committee set up by the government on the Oronsaye report.

The source added that upon receipt of the latest report, President Goodluck Jonathan has been meeting with Vice-President Namadi Sambo and a few top government officials to take final decisions on it.

It was in one of such meetings held on Tuesday that the final decision was taken.

Under the new arrangement, the source said in place of UTME, authorities of all tertiary institutions would now be at liberty to conduct their entrance examinations as they had been doing for post-UTME.

Robin Thicke's Topless Music Video Banned from YouTube

''Blurred lines'' is the name of Robin Thickes Video that was thrown out of YouTube. I guess it crossed the lines!

Why? Well some people think the unrated video was way out of line because it featured a horde of topless beauties.

Robin Thicke however had a different opinion! He said YouTube took down his video because it was too hot! *chuckling* Read his Tweet HERE

I think that was a right move by YouTube! What's your take?

Lithopedion (Stone Baby) Born By 92 Year Old Woman

The Chinese woman above was delivered of a Stone Baby (Lithopedion). This is a very rare medical case which occurs when a pregnancy fails, and the feotus calcifies in the mother's womb.

Medically, the feotus would have gotten to an advanced stage before it's death, hence it will be too large to be absorbed by the body. The remains of the child or it’s amniotic sac will slowly calcify, hence turning to stone as a way to protect the woman’s body from infection as a result of the decomposing tissue.

If no complications occur, then the woman continues life as if nothing happened!

Huang Yijun experienced same, she said when her pregnancy failed in 1948, she didn't have money to have the feotus removed, so she ignored the doctors and went about her business.

The Stone baby is 60 years old!

Only  290 cases of Lithopedions have ever occured according to the Journal of  the Royal Society of Medicine.

Why Unemployment, When Nigeria's Military Strenght Is Weak?

According to Ventures Africa, Nigeria places 3rd Largest Economy with a GDP of $377.9 billion, just  behind Egypt which has $497.88 billion and South Africa with GDP of $524 billion. Renaissance Capital report says Nigeria can surpass South Africa's Economy by 2014.

So why is unemployment a huge challenge in Nigeria?

We are Africa's most populous nation. i think we can invest in our population. Reduce unemployment, you reduce poverty. For every above age 20 individual there are at least 2 dependants. Now that's why poverty is prevalent.

Our military strenght is yet to be what it should be, Nigeria churns hundreds of thousands of graduates annually. (Ask NYSC). How about recruiting these young smart unemployed graduates. They'd be glad to fight for their country and get taken care of!

Let's take a cue from Developed Countries. I selected America and Canada. See what they do for their people!

Akwa Ibom Commisioner Says Wedding Gift To Tuface Is Not Too Much!

Akwa Ibom's Commissioner in an Interview with Channels Television this week, said Annie Macaulay and Tuface Idibia brought  a galaxy of entertainers to Akwa Ibom. He said they've created something very significant for Akwa Ibom State!

In his words: ‘If we were to fund the destination marketing of branding ,i do not think N3million and the cost of one SUV is too much, even if we were to place advert on Channels Television to attract people to the new destination Governor Akpabio is building’.

The commissioner said the governor's gesture was to repay a daughter of the state; Annie Macaulay for contributing to the repositioning of the state and has done the state proud too.

Okay ooo! But someone said that gesture is like pouring a cup of water into the ocean! Do you agree?

A Roof Collapsed in Sheraton's Hotel Banquet Hall

I was looking through some other blog, yes! Which i do? A reader sent in the picture to the blogger.

Severe leaking was noticed in the roof of the banquet hall this afternoon, during a conference hosted by the advertising  body of Nigeria. An attendee managed to send in the pictures.

The LIBer said the attendees had to move to a seperate part of the room, but less than a minute later, the roof caved in and (you no what next) the guest rushed out of the conference room out of fear.

The reader also communicated, that the Sheraton's management didn't offer any apologies.

Joel Brinkley's Opinion is: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Be Impeached

Well he is not called the syndicated coloumnist  for nothing! He has just written an article that is making waves. Why? Because he is popular? No way, because he's said the truth.

Here's his article culled from News Rescue

He Just outside President Goodluck Jonathan's office sat 17 ambulances, just  in case he or one of his aides fell ill. They were seldom if ever used.

No actual health-care facility nationwide had as many, and in fact a few still have none at all. But as soon as a Nigerian newspaper took a photo of the ambulances and published a story about them, they suddenly disappeared — probably to an underground garage.

Jonathan is president of Nigeria, which should be among the world’s most prosperous nations. After all, it produces an estimated 2.4 million barrels of oil each and every day. With oil now selling at $93.61 a barrel, that’s $224 million in income daily. And yet many hospitals can’t afford to buy an ambulance. The reason, in my view: Nigeria is the most corrupt nation on earth.

Sure, Transparency International lists almost three dozen states as more corrupt — Chad, Haiti, Laos, Yemen, Cambodia and the like. But are any of those nations as wealthy as Nigeria — taking in $81 billion annually, just from the sale of oil? No, not even one of them. So Nigeria steals and squanders more money than any other nation, making it the world’s most corrupt, by that measure.

You should continue it get's interesting

What Causes Seizures?

As a child I had friends who suffered this. Those days and even till date; people stigmatize people who suffer from this.

So let’s shed more light on this.

Seizures, or convulsions, occur when abnormal signals from the brain change the way the body functions. Body movements  are controlled by the brain by sending out small electrical signals through the nerves to the muscles.

Seizures vary from person to person. Some people have only slight shaking of a hand and do not lose consciousness. Other people may become unconscious and have violent shaking of the entire body.

Some people who have seizures have symptoms before the seizure (sensations) or briefly lose touch with their surroundings and appear to stare into space. Although the person is awake, he or she does not respond normally. Afterwards, the person does not remember the episode.

But not all body shaking, either mild or violent, are caused by seizure. Many medical conditions can cause a type of body shaking that usually affects the hands and head (tremors).

A single seizure usually lasts less than 3 minutes and is not followed by a second seizure. Any normally healthy person can have a single seizure under certain conditions. For instance, a sharp blow to the head, may cause a seizure. Having one seizure does not always mean that a serious health problem exists.

But if you have a first-time seizure, you should be checked by your doctor. It is important to rule out a serious illness that may have caused the seizure. Fever seizures (febrile convulsions) are the most common cause of a single seizure, especially in children.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Do You Have That Skill?

First Aid Skills are very important, they are lifesaving skills. The first four minutes after a casualty collapses are life threathning.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure that is performed in a bid to manually preserve intact brain function until better measures can be taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person in unconsciousness or cardiac arrest.

The video above justwas captured in Perth Supermarket, Australia. A builder resuscitated a child who had collapsed, lost consciousness, and stopped breathing while shopping with her mum in Australia.

The CCTV footage shows the two year old Shaylar’s mum, Amy Collard, carrying her to the supermarket’s counter.

The builder Mr. Rowan O'Neill, rushed to help the stricken girl - and fearing she was choking, he turned her upside down in an effort to revive her. (First Aid Skill).

Mr. O'Neill also attempted the Heimlich manoeuvre, by shaking her and patting her on the back.
When that failed, Mr. O'Neill begins mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (First Aid Skill) - and after 90 seconds the girl opened her eyes, local media said.

So you see how important this skill is.
