Mimiko Declared Winner with 260,199 Votes- INEC

 

Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko was declared the  winner of Saturday’s governorship election by the Independent National  Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to INEC’s returning officer Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Akure, Labour Party’s  candidate Mimiko scored 260,199 votes, defeating other candidates like Mr.  Rotimi Akeredolu  of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) who scored 143,512 and Chief Olusola Oke of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 155,961 votes.


 Of the 1,638,950 registered voters, 645,597 were accredited, 624,659 were cast, 594,244 were valid whilst 30,415 were rejected.
