Wizkid Had A Fun Day Out with Nigerian Idol Contestants

It looked like they had plenty of fun and excitement as the contestants of the Nigerian Idol Season 3 spent an activity full day on the island with Nigerian pop music star Wizkid on Monday the 25th February 2013. The outing was sponsored by Pepsi.

Their first stop was Raddison Blu hotel. The eager contestants joined Wizkid at the gym. One lesson they definitely learned from the star was “You must keep fit”. With the type of energy needed to keep the crowd entertained, that is one tip they definitely need to use.

From the hotel, their next stop was some singing lessons from ‘Weezy’. He emphasized that they need to “Always believe in yourself and your ability”.

They had some airtime with the Beat 99.9 FM. The contestants shared some on air presence with Wizkid and got to meet with Toolz O, Bovi who dropped by and the rest of the Beat FM team.

The love birds were in the front row at Givenchy on Sunday. Smiling and looking rather reserved at times, they wore his-and-hers matching Givenchy tuxes, in opposing colors.

Nollywood Actress Ayo Adesanya Says "It’s A Sin To Have Tatoos"

Nigerian Actress Ayo Adeshina. She’s been around for a long time and poplar in both the Yoruba and English Nollywood movies.

She’s trying to get rid of her tattoo now as she says she now knows it’s a sin.

“I still have it (her tattoo) but it’s fading off gradually. I recently had a surgery. I’m supposed to have gone for another one. I’m clearing it off but it’s so painful. It gets swollen and too painful.

“I went to a church to pray and they gave me a Bible verse, I never knew it was against Christianity. Until the Pastor opened a passage that I should read, and that was how I knew. It’s actually so beautiful when you have tattoos but immediately I knew it was a sin then, I made up my mind to clean it.

American Idol Hits Low!

Last Wednesday American Idol pulled in 13.1 million viewers, it's lowest Wednesday night rating since the singing competition show debuted back in 2002.

This marks the third week in a row that the ratings have gone down. American Idol season 12 premiered January 16, 2013 with 17.8 million viewers. Last year's season finale aired May 23, 2012 with 21.49 million viewers.

They (American Idol producers) added Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj to the judges panel and expected a jump in ratings.

Well the exact opposite happened!!!

HIV Infection Cured Through Very Early Treatment

HIV Infection Cured Through Very Early Treatment

Researchers say they have, for the first time, cured a baby born with HIV -- a development that could help improve treatment of babies infected at birth.

A baby girl in Mississippi who was born with HIV has been cured after very early treatment with standard HIV drugs, U.S. researchers reported on Sunday, in a potentially ground-breaking case that could offer insights on how to eradicate HIV infection in its youngest victims.

The child's story is the first account of an infant achieving a so-called functional cure, a rare event in which a person achieves remission without the need for drugs and standard blood tests show no signs that the virus is making copies of itself.

More testing needs to be done to see if the treatment would have the same effect on other children, but the results could change the way high-risk babies are treated and possibly lead to a cure for children with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

What Do You Think About This Video

This video is titled: Boko Haram Threathens To Execute French Family Kidnapped in Cameroun, Africa (For those reading from other continents other than Africa)
I watched this video, and it shows how cowardly this people are!

What God do they serve? To think they even prayed before rendering their threats, just shows their wickedness!

Please feel free to share your views.

The Pope Resigns

Today is the final day of the Pope Benedict XVI  eight year Papacy which took a dramatic turn when he announced two weeks ago that he would step down by the end of the month.  He will meet with 115 cardinals this morning for a final time. The focus of the meeting will be on the election of a new pope.

Most of the cardinals from around the world will meet with Pope Benedict XVI, before he flies out with a helicopter to the papal residence at Castel Gandolfo, south of Rome.

Pope Benedict XVI will stay at Castel Gandolfo for about two weeks, while his apartment inside Vatican City is set up. The apartment is believed to be in a monastery.

With chants of “Benedetto!” erupting from the crowd, the mood was far more buoyant than during the Pope’s final Sunday blessing. Pope Benedict had said he decided to retire after realizing that, at 85, he simply didn’t have the “strength of mind or body” to carry on.

Pope Benedict who becomes the  Bishop of Rome Emeritus from today thanked the people for respecting his decision to resign on grounds of failing strength and ailing health, but more important, reminding them that “it was time for a younger man to lead the Catholic Church into the future.

IBB Backs Political Parties Merger

From his hill top mansion in  Minna Niger state , the former President said as a strong advocate of two political parties for the country, the emerging scenario will surely vindicate him on his stand for  two political party system which he said is the only way out for the country politically. Hs said:

“ I have been a very good advocate of two party system for the country since I was the president. When I said we need only two parties some years back, they said I am a soldier and I should shut up but now, many are seeing relevance in my agitation,” Gen. Babangida remarked.

“I am happy with the merger talk that is going on; it is a welcome political development in our political experience and if it succeeds, it will surely vindicate me and move the country on politically.”
