Sports: Nigerian Former Football Coach Stephen Keshi Has Died

Stephen Okechukwu Keshi is dead! He was Nigeria’s former football coach. He died in the early hours of Wednesday the 8^th of June, 2016 in Benin City in Nigeria after suffering a cardiac arrest. The former international football player and coach had earlier lost his wife of 35 years, Kate to cancer last year. News had it that he never got over his wife’s death.

A close friend to the family said “He was not ill at all, never showed any signs of  illness, but we suspect he never got over the death of his wife,”  He is survived by four children and his mother.

He was a member of the 1994 team. And unfortunately the 5^th to die in that team. Others are Uche Okafor, Thompson Oliha, Rashidi Yekini and Wilfred Agbonavbare.

He was popularly known as the “Big Boss” for his leadership skills. He is so far the only Nigerian coach to have won the Africa Cup of Nations. He has coached Togo, Mali and Nigeria for the World Cup football competitions.

Sports: Garbine Muguruzu Beats Serena Williams In The Finals Of The Women French Open Title

Today is Garbine Muguruza’s day.Why? Because she beat defending champion Serena Williams to win the 2016 women French open title. Serena Williams was not at her best today due to injury, however Garbine also had some injury, yet she pushed on to win the title.

Garbine is the first Spanish woman to win the title France since Arantxa Sánchez Vicario beat Monica Seles in the 1998 finals.

After wining in her excitement she said" “I’m so excited. To play a final of a grand slam against one of the best players, I’m so happy. Serena’s a very powerful player so I had to be ready and concentrate on all the points. I just tried to fight as much as I can. All the matches I played against her helped me. In Spain, this is the tournament. Rafa has helped that cause.”

It's a sad news that the American boxing legend Mohammed Ali has passed on. He died in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday 3rd of June, 2016. He is considered the greatest heavyweight boxer in the history of boxing. He was born on the 17th of January 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, United States.

He was married to Yolonda Williams. He had 9 children Laila Ali, Rasheda Ali, Hana Ali, Asaad Amin, Maryum Ali, Jamillah Ali, Khaliah Ali, Muhammad Ali Jr., Miya Ali. He had a sibling Rahman Ali. Boxing Star Floyd Mayweather, the world's richest boxer has sent in his tribute saying that there wasn't any day he went to the Gym that he didn't think of Ali, and that Ali inspired him throughout his boxing career.

It’s been reported that the boxing legend Muhammad Ali 74, has been placed on life support. His medical condition continues to worsen and his family is now rushing to be by his bedside.

He was hospitalized at an undisclosed facility since Thursday when he was discovered at his home 'barely breathing' according to Radar online.

Today defending champion Serena Williams has made it to the French Open finals. She beat Kiki Bertens who beat Timea Bacsinszky 7-5, 6-2 to get to the semi-finals. Serena will face Garbine Muguruza  and has her 22nd grand slam singles title at stake.

U.S Government Moves to Reduce Salt In Packaged Food and Restuarants

In a bid to reduce the number of of heart attacks and strokes linked to consuming too much sodium, the United States Food and Drug Administration today moved to cut the amount of salt in packaged and restaurant food. The agency issued a draft guideline for major food manufacturers and big chain restaurants. These guidelines are centered on reducing salt in foods such as soup, pizza, deli meat, dips, hamburgers, baked goods, snack foods and more. Thereby lowering the average American's salt consumption by a third.

Domestic Violence Against Women Means The Aggressor is Shallow Minded!

So today, a lady from Nigeria sent in some sad photos of herself. Her body was bruised. She anonymously reported that she was battered by her slightly Journalist boyfriend. She alleged that he told her that she can't do a thing about the abuse because he is rich and she is poor.

Now if this is proven true, then he has not only physically abused her, but mentally abused her. When one puts him or herself in a position to demean or abase others that person only enjoys a momentary victory but has sown a destructive seed.

Life itself symbolizes creation and not destruction. So putting oneself as an enemy of life shows that that person does not understand the essence of life. It shows the level of misunderstanding  the individual dwells in and most unfortunately, it shows how shallow that individual's is.

Breaking News: EgyptAir Flight 804 that vanishes off radar with 66 people aboard, Search and Rescue Operations Ongoing!

It has been reported that a Flight 804, Airbus A320 that flew at 37,000 feet had vanished off radar on its way from Paris to Cairo. It has 66 people aboard. 56 passengers and 10 crew members. It disappeared shortly after entering the Egyptian airspace.

The Egyptian navy is conducting search and rescue operations with help from Greece.

Any Benefit in Job Hopping (JH)?

I was discussing with a colleague today about the career trend and tendencies of different generations. A liitle bit of background will help you understand my position in this argument/discussion. My colleague is from the generation X (People born after the baby boomers). If you are still at loss about who the baby boomers are, please ask uncle google ;-).  I am from the generation Y. The demographic cohorts following the generation Y are known as the Millennials. 

My colleague's argument is that most job hoppers are from the Millennials and those following them. Now this may make job hopping (JH) sound like a hasty decision from care free thinking youths.

This brings me to my question. Is job hopping a career suicide? Will employers turn you down if you have a history of Job hopping? Will you succeed from JH, does it mean more money and more experience? Is it a yah or nah? Too many questions right? Well here's my opinion (PS. I'm also into Human Resources)

If you are loved by the creator of the universe, why hurt yourself when you can embrace him and tell him your worries through prayers?

And to those who feel only emptiness inside, be rest assured that new events are abut to happen which will fill your lives with so many activities that will leave you "wondering why on God's green earth was i feeling empty".
