The 3rd Mainland Bridge will be opened today Tuesday October
30th, by the Federal Government. The bridge (longest bridge in West Africa), was
partially closed in early July to allow for repair works that cost the
government one billion Naira.
The government had partially closed the bridge on July 7 to
enable the contractor (Messrs Boroni Prono and Company Limited) to replace
eight expansion joints on the bridge for a contract sum of N1bn.
So far all looks well; Lagos residents have had to endure
the rigors that came with the closure.
But the repair/ maintenance works is a good move by the
Federal government.
At last! Thank God!
