Habitual Offender Rapes 95 Year Old Woman!
A serial offender in Johannesburg has been accused of raping a
94-year-old grandmother in her home in KwaSwayimane, Johannesburg, South
Africa.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the suspect was one of the prisoners who benefited from the special state pardon recently granted by President Jacob Zuma.
There has been a nationwide outcry over the president’s decision to release 44,985 prisoners under this programme despite been aware that the last one was grossly abused.
In the 2005 special remission programme, 157 former prisoners re-offended and had to be thrown back in jail.
Mnikelwa Nxele of the KwaZulu-Natal Correctional Services, confirmed that the suspect was recently released in June under the presidential initiative.
An officer of the South African Police Service (SAPS), Vincent Mdunge, confirmed to the press yesterday that the suspect has appeared at the New Hanover Magistrate Court on charges of rape.
He was described as an “habitual offender” who had earlier been declared wanted for his part in an armed robbery case before the rape incident.
Nxele said the alleged rape was “regrettable and sad”.
Statistics reveal that a woman is raped every 26 seconds in the former apartheid country.
It is almost certain that the alleged rapist won’t be getting pardons from the state any time soon.

Latoya To Family: Stop Fighting In Public!
La Toya Jackson is a conscientious objector ...
REFUSING to take part in the Jackson media war ... because she believes
all of the PUBLIC feuding is damaging the family name.
La Toya -- who's not exactly shy when it comes to publicity -- has been noticeably absent from the media blitz surrounding Michael Jackson's kids and the MJ Estate.
We're told La Toya feels VERY STRONGLY that the most effective way to solve the family problems are NOT to attack each other in public ... but rather hash things out quietly ... and respectfully ... in private.
So whose side is she on? Sources say she's definitely NOT aligned with Janet, Randy, Jermaine and Rebbie ... and wasn't thrilled to see them camera-whoring all over TV this week.
Bottom line -- we're told La Toya wants what's best for Michael's kids ... and feels the quicker the family can stop making a public spectacle of themselves ... the better off the kids will be.

Ghana Gets New President
In accordance with Ghana’s constitution, Vice President John Dramani
Mahama was sworn in today as president before an emergency session of
parliament following the death of President John Atta Mills.
Mahama pledged to maintain stability as he serves out the remainder of Mills’ term.
“I wish Ghanaians to be assured that all is well,” he said. “We are going to maintain the peace, unity and stability that Ghana is noted for.” He declared a week of national mourning, with flags to be flown at half-mast.
In his recollections of life-changing moments while growing up in Ghana, he once wrote that he was forever changed by his boyhood experiences during a 1966 military coup.
The 53-year-old who had been vice president was born in Bole Bamboi in northern Ghana and holds degrees in history and communications, according to Ghanian media.
He served as a diplomat in Japan in the early 1990s before returning to Ghana, where he was first elected to parliament as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party.
He later became the chairman of the West Africa Caucus at the Pan African Parliament in Pretoria, before deceased president Mills tipped him for the vice presidency.
Mills died on Tuesday at a hospital in Accra following an unspecified illness. Mahama, according to a recently published memoir, grew up as a child of privilege. In the book, “My First Coup d’Etat — And Other True Stories from the Lost Decades of Africa,” he describes his experiences at an elite boarding school in the capital Accra, where he was drilled in the customs of Ghana’s former colonial power, Britain.
“The history and prestige (of the Achimota boarding school) did not stop me from hating it,” he wrote.
In the book’s first chapter, he vividly recalls the day in 1966 when he learned Ghana’s founding president Kwame Nkrumah was ousted in a military coup.
“When I look back on my life it’s clear to me that this moment marked the awakening of my consciousness. It changed my life and influenced all the moments that followed,” he wrote.
His father, who served as junior minister in Nkrumah’s government, was briefly detained and interrogated by the coup leaders.
Mahama described his journey around Accra, accompanied by an official from his school, in search of his father, who was later released unharmed.

Question for today!
I read this article on Daily post and thought i should share and of course ask questions. But please read the article with me...
...Davido had all the time in the world to hype his debut, but I have just this brief opportunity to tell the ugly truth about it. And tell it I will, because “the truth is always more heroic than the hype.” Fact: ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, that misnomer of an album, is a contrived collection of forgettable formulaic tracks. All sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Clearly, someone (I suspect a certain Asa Asika) has been lying to Davido about his music. Or perhaps the notoriously shallow Nigerian music audience unwittingly invented the deception that is his so-called talent. Either way, the young man must have taken his sudden, almost Illuminati-ish rise to fame to the head, (mis)leading him to release a directionless, decidedly premature product as his debut album. To his credit, if he had recorded this hack job with a loaded and cocked shotgun aimed at his privates, he couldn’t have done much worse. *cue Homeric laughter*
Inspired by the jack-of-all-trades running wild in Nigeria’s unfortunately prolific movie industry (Funke Akindele-Oloyede, I’m looking at you), Davido wears multiple hats – singer, songwriter and (occasional) producer – to disastrous effect on ‘Omo Baba Olowo’. While I can bite my tongue and allow his passable (read: untrained and Auto-Tune compensated) singing voice, er, pass without much comment, it is impossible to voluntarily ignore his particularly terrible songwriting. No one song on the album epitomises that lyrical deficiency better than the delusively catchy ‘Down’, a poster child for the nonsensical formula currently being applied with resounding success across the Nigerian music scene: [vacuous lyrics] x [sexual theme] + [upbeat instrumentals] = surefire hit.
Okay, Pause.
I know it's kinda long but, just continue for the day's question.

Thought of The Day!
Well i was just thinking! And Browsing and Stumbled on an article (Actually, an interview with this beautiful lady!)
Here's the question that caught my attention.
"Do you deliberately use the lips to attract men?" and her reply was: How do you mean? I don’t go out of my ways to use my lips to draw attention. However, most men would tell me that they love my lips. Some would even ask that a single kiss would be enough for them and all that.
The question is... Are those lips attractive? Well, i don't know. Are they? Hehehe
Soldiers Attack Lagos Officials
There was pandemonium on Wednesday at Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba after some soldiers allegedly attacked policemen attached to the Lagos State special security outfit, the Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit.
It was learnt that the soldiers used bottles and stones to attack the task force officials.
They were also said to have punctured two tyres of the Black Maria belonging to the unit with knives.
According to eyewitnesses, trouble started when the task force officials, who were on patrol, accosted the driver of a commercial bus for obstructing traffic flow.
However, a soldier who was sitting in the bus snatched the key from the driver to prevent the officials from taking the bus away. After few minutes of heated arguments, the soldier was said to have called for assistance from an army base not far from the scene of the trouble.
Within minutes, many soldiers trooped out from the base and began to throw stones and other objects at the task force officials. Some of the soldiers were said to have gone to the Black Maria brought by the task force and deflated two of its tyres.
An eyewitness said comments from the soldiers suggested that they were also angry with way Governor Babatunde Fashola treated a Colonel, who drove on BRT lane on Tuesday.
As the situation tensed up, the task force officials also called for help to match the number of soldiers attacking them. The crisis was allegedly escalated by a Lieutenant-Colonel who arrived on the scene and ordered the soldiers to bundle some of the task force officials into the barracks.
Calm was, however, restored when a senior task force official intervened and led his men away from the area without arresting the driver.
Task Force Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, confirmed the attack.
He said, “It as an affront on the state government because the soldiers vandalised government vehicle.
“The attack was uncalled for as those task force officials were on legitimate duty.”
He added that he would be reporting the attack to higher authorities in the state.
But the spokesman for 81 Division, Lt. Col. Kayode Ogunsanya, said he was not aware of the incident.
He said, “I don’t think such thing was reported and except it is reported, there is no way I will know.”
The spokesman for the state police command, Ms. Ngozi Braide, said, “I heard about the incident, but I have yet to been fully briefed on it.”
